Shamrock Civil were awarded the bulk earthworks and civil works packages for the Mango Hill Retail development by Pellicano Builders. The bulk earthworks comprised of 7100m3 of cut and 1975m3 of fill including the preparation of 5no building pads and the associated sediment and erosion controls for the project. The civil works package included the construction of the stormwater drainage system including the bio retention swale and associated manholes, gullies and gross pollutant trap. The construction of a 6800m2 asphalt pavement car park with the associated kerbs and linemaking also formed part of Shamrock’s contract. Whilst on site Shamrock also undertook the detailed excavation for the retaining walls footings and backfill to the retaining walls. In addition to the bulk and civil earthworks packages Shamrock Civil also undertook the external works including the construction of a median turning lane and crossover at Halpine Drive and the construction of a deceleration lane, bus stop, stormwater, and bike lane at Anzac Ave. Shamrock undertook the Anzac Ave works as principle contractor and liaised closely with the Department of Main Roads whilst undertaking these works. All works were completed on programme to the satisfaction of the main contractor and the Department of Main Roads.

Shamrock
Civil were awarded the bulk earthworks contract at the Multi Role Helicopter
Facility project at the Gallipoli Army Barracks Enoggera by John Holland. The
bulk earthworks consisted of the following:
- Removal
of the existing trees and vegetation and the stripping of topsoil over the
15,000m2 site.
- Bulk
excavation of 8900m3
- Bulk
filling of 2100m3 including filling to the 3750m2 building pad which was
carried out under level 1 supervision.
- Removal
from site of 3500m3 of unsuitable fibrous materials.
- Trimming
and proof rolling of 5500m2 of roads and car park subgrade
- Filling
and Trimming 1600m2 of batters to the site surrounds
Shamrock
also carried out the road widening on Coxen Road which required cutting and
filling on the existing batters, the relocation of the existing signage and
gates, and jute matting to the Coxen Rd Batters.
Due to
the close proximity of the Coxen Rd work areas to overhead Energex powerlines
and the requirement to keep Coxen Rd operational at all times Shamrock utilised
our extensive range of experienced and qualified personnel including Energex
accredited operators, spotters and traffic controllers and specialist plant
including long reach excavators to ensure these works were carried out safely
without incident or disruption to traffic.
