Environment
Policy Statement

Our goal is to understand and meet our environmental obligations to our employees, our clients and the community, in accordance with the Environmental Protection Act 1994 and subordinate legislation, and AS/NZS ISO 14001:2004.

Shamrock Civil Engineering recognises that performing civil works unavoidably impacts on the environment. Our objective is to minimise pollution and associated adverse environmental effects and manage atmospheric emissions from our activities so that acceptable standards are met.  Our primary focus is to prevent adverse environmental impacts rather than to control, treat or remediate as a result of an incident.

Shamrock Civil Engineering's Environmental Management System includes:

  • Planning work activities to meeting environmental legislation and guidelines;
  • Operating an environmentally sound business;
  • Training all staff in environmental issues awareness and work procedures;
  • Reporting and recording environmental practices as part of our quality management system; and
  • Reviewing and auditing our environmental procedures to enable continual improvement.

Our commitment is to:

  • Developing and implementing management systems and integrating environmental processes within general management practices
  • Monitoring, reviewing and reporting on environmental performance
  • Developing and implementing environmental practices which minimise predicted impacts
  • Comply with legislation concerned with environmental protection
  • Act with due regard for the requirements and expectations of our employees, shareholders, suppliers and subcontractors, insurers and industry associations;
  • Act in the interests of our clients, product users and end users;
  • Encourage employee education and participation in improving environmental awareness and practice; and
  • Implement an environmental audit and reporting system to continually improve our environmental management system.
