SYSTEM MANAGEMENT

Occupational Health & Safety

Shamrock Civil's policy on occupational health and safety is one that drives a professional and proactive approach to the safety and well being of all our staff and subcontractors. Shamrock Civil's OH&S Management System is certified by SAI Global against the AS/NZS 4801:2001 Standard.

Our policy statement is made practical through our comprehensive safety management system including but not limited to:

  • Initial induction and ongoing training of all Shamrock employees.
  • Site specific risk assessments by expert experienced professional personnel.
  • A documented approach to Hazard control using such forms as Safety Plans, Safe Work Method Statements, Daily Pre-Starts and Toolbox Meetings.
  • Ongoing monitoring of the safety system and development when necessary.

Environmental

Our goal is to understand and meet our environmental obligations to our employees, our clients and the community, in accordance with the Environmental Protection Act 1994 and subordinate legislation, and AS/NZS ISO 14001:2004.

Our objective is to minimise pollution and associated adverse environmental effects and manage atmospheric emissions from our activities so that acceptable standards are met. Our primary focus is to prevent adverse environmental impacts rather than to control, treat or remediate as a result of an incident.

Quality Assurance

Shamrock Civil Engineering's Quality Management System is our commitment to producing the highest standard of work for our client. We are able to achieve this through:

  • Effective planning and allocation of experienced project management personnel;
  • The use of client approved Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and Quality Verification Checklist (QVC) forms on site, ensuring our works comply with the clients drawings and specifications;
  • Regular client/subcontractor coordination meetings;
  • Internal audits and inspections plans;
  • Effective communication and training; and
  • A committed management review process in which inspection, audit and project review records are monitored and analysed to ensure quality objectives and targets are being achieved, ensuring continual improvement.

Shamrock Civil Engineering's Quality Management System is third party certified as complying with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008. Third party surveillance auditing is conducted annually and renewal of certification triennially.
