Policy Statement
Shamrock Civil Engineering is committed to providing a Safe Work environment for our employees, sub-contractors, public and clients, this is achieved by:
- Complying with the Workplace Health & Safety Act 1995 and all other applicable laws, regulations and statutory obligations;
- Ensuring company objective and targets are monitored and achieved.
- Ensuring consistent safety practices across all Shamrock Civil Engineering's work sites;
- Continually providing training, instruction and information for employees so as to increase safety awareness;
- Involving employees in developing Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and ways to reduce occupational hazards and improve control methodologies;
- Eliminating work related injury and illness and eliminate or minimise OH&S risks throughout Shamrock Civil Engineering's operation;
- Ensuring that plant & machinery is adequate, safe and maintained throughout the company's operations;
- Taking specific action to improve safety performance and take disciplinary action when employees or sub-contractors disregard Health & Safety procedures and practices;
- Providing an effective system of rehabilitation management for injured or sick employees; and
- Setting objectives in the management of OH & S and review its performance by way of regular audits.
Shamrock Civil Engineering employees and sub-contractors are required to:
- Adhere to Shamrock Civil Engineering's Safe Work Practices and instructions;
- Report any unsafe work practices, equipment and conditions to their supervisor or management; and
- Recognise that OH&S is both an individual and shared responsibility.
Shamrock Civil Engineering recognises that there is no task so important or so urgent that it compromises the health & safety of any individual.
