Shamrock Civil Engineering was awarded the contract for the construction of the James Drysdale Dam at the James Drysdale Reserve Bunya by the Moreton Bay Regional Council.
The project consisted of:
- Stripping, clearing and mulching of 4500m2 vegetation;
- The bulk excavation of 10,700m3; and
- The placing and compacting of this material to form the dam wall. In addition Shamrock carried out the spillway and scour protection works.
Shamrock Civil Engineering was able to utilise our previous experience in construction of dam projects to ensure the project was completed without incident to the satisfaction of the Moreton Bay Regional Council.
The project was located in an environmentally sensitive area and despte the project being carried out during significant summer rains, Shamrock Civil were able to prevent any damage to the local environment by using industry best practices.
