VALUE: $585,000
DURATION: April 2007 - September 2007
Baulderstone Hornibrook awarded Shamrock Civil the contract of the civil works, construction of the Pump Station and Gross Pollutant Trap as part of the RAAF Amberley Stage 2 Redevelopment works.
The staging of this 10m deep excavation in a limited space was crucial in planning of this project. The top half of the excavation was benched down with the final 5 meters utilizing a power brace system to ensure safety of the workers.
Use of pre-cast manhole rings and casting of sections into the base at ground level was seen as the most efficient manner of construction. This 38T base was then lifted into position and built up to the finished surface level.
Finally the Sewer Pit was coated with Megapoxy and patched after final fitting of the Pump Station.
The Gross pollutant trap was constructed to divert water flowing down stormwater channel throughout the RAAF base and remove contaminants.
We placed and fixed the pre-fabricated sections, formed and poured the weir wall then finished off the site by installing the rock protection.
