John Holland awarded Shamrock Civil the Stage 8 Civil Works contract at the Enoggera Army Base, which involved 6 no individual areas,
Towner & Borella St Traffic Islands
As part of the Towner & Borella St traffic calming works Shamrock Civil constructed 12no concrete traffic islands and associated linemarking and signage
Chauvel Drive & Sadler St
The works included the demolition 2200m2 of existing concrete road and construction of 2200m2 of new concrete pavement with associated stormwater works.
Light Horse Car Park
The Light Horse Car Park works included site stripping and clearing of 5800m2 of topsoil & vegetation 3000m3 of bulk earthworks, 2500m3 of removal and reinstatement of unsuitable material and the construction of a 5500m2 asphalt car park with associated stormwater drainage including 2no GPT's. Shamrock Civil also completed the concrete works at the Light Horse Car Park including 2no concrete crossovers and concrete footpaths.
2HSB Car Park
These works consisted of the stripping and clearing of a 2100m2 site and the demolition of 800m2 of the existing asphalt pavement on Inwood Rd. 1000m3 of bulk excavation and the construction of a 1700m2 of asphalt car park and 800m2 of asphalt pavement on Inwood Rd and associated stormwater drainage including 2no GPT's. Shamrock Civil also carried out the construction of a crib retaining wall, pool fence, concrete footpaths, concrete driveways , concrete slabs and concrete stairs.
DEGIG Car Park,
DEGIG car park works consisted of the construction of a 900m2 asphalt car park and associated stormwater including 1no GPT. These works required co-ordination with other trades due to the restricted access and a short construction programme. Shamrock also carried out concrete works such as concrete crossovers and footpaths.
Fraser Gate
The Fraser Gate works road consisted of a widening at the existing Fraser Gate entry, and involved the coordination and interface with other trades carrying out the new guard house works. Due to the presence of a high number existing services including high pressure gas & HV these works required significant locating and exposure of existing services and the construction of a concrete protection slab over these services. These works required the use of Shamrock Civils experienced personnel for the excavation around existing live services. As part of our extensive feet of modern plant and machinery Shamrock Civil operate our own vacumn excavation truck. These works were completed without incident to the satisfaction of John Holland personnel.
