Contract works: Civil, Demolition and Bulk Earthworks
Shamrock Civil Engineering was awarded the contract for Civil, Demolition and Bulk Earthworks for the landside HAL precinct project.
The project was part of the RAAF Base Redevelopment and our scope included:
- Clear and strip 15,000m2 and prepare site;
- Import and place 30,000m2 of select filling material for under roads and building pads;
- Install 500m of RCP including pits, manholes and gullies;
- Construct over 12,000m2 of flexible pavement; and
- Install 1,500m of kerbs and kerb and channel.
Located within a RAAF base, the project was beside the fully functional main runway. Working closely with John Holland, Shamrock Civil were able to ensure that all safety and security measures outlined by the RAAF base were adhered to at all times. For the bulk earthworks of the project Shamrock Civil used its knowledge of the area to be able to source a suitable select fill material that met the specification requirements. Sourcing the material locally insured we were able to bring the project within budget. The project was completed and handed over on time to a very satisfied client.
