VALUE: $1,400,000
DURATION: November 2004 - October 2006
Situated at the University of Queensland St Lucia Campus, the Australian Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology is a cutting edge research facility. Shamrock Civil contract works for the project included bulk excavation, sewer, stormwater and carpark as well as roadworks.
Due to the confined site restrictions a large amount of coordination between Shamrock Civil and the client as well as all other subcontractors on site was essential on a daily basis.
Following the initial bulk excavation for the building platform and service tunnel, Shamrock Civil installed a stormwater system comprising of overland flow inlet and outlet structures, reinforced concrete pipes and culverts. The installation of a sewer line and 6 No. sewer structures diverted the existing sewer line in order to allow the construction of the new 6 story building to progress.
All works to the AIBN project were completed on time, within budget and to the highest safety standards.
