VALUE:                   $573,000

This 40 story building was constructed on a 7,740m2 site which fronts North Quay and the Brisbane River with half of the site devoted to public space.

All demolition was carried out in areas which were abundant with live services without incident.  Demolition consisted of the removal of existing concrete and asphalt, removal of redundant services and removal of existing heritage kerb for reuse.

The Road works comprised of the following activities:

  • Construction of road widening at Adelaide St and North Quay; and
  • Constructing on new bus inlet bay George St.

The Footpath works comprised of the following activities:

  • Excavating under road, kerb and to the edge of the building slab to required level and placement of roadbase material to form the adjacent slab extending to the back of kerb;
  • Installation of porphyry kerb and footing; and
  • Form and install concrete channel.

All works were carried out within a small, congested work zone which presented many obstacles throughout the project, however all critical dates were achieved.
