VALUE: $292,000
DURATION: September 2008 - December 2008
The Indooroopilly Railway Station Upgrade was delivered by the S2K Alliance, a partnership between QR Limited and Abigroup Contractors.
The works consisted of the upgrade of:
- The kerb and footpath at the corner of Westminster Street and Coonan Street; and
- The carpark on Railway Avenue.
Works on the corner of Westminster and Coonan Streets include:
- Demolition island kerb & footpath and reinstate to new design.
- Profile and lay asphalt.
Upgrading the carpark on Railway Avenue included:
- Demolish existing asphalt and excavate pavement;
- Prepare subgrade and place pavement to new design with associated drainage lines and structures;
- Placement of new kerb and channel; and
- Lay asphalt and install new road furniture and line marking.
Both construction areas were areas of heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic. A traffic management plan was put in place at the commencement of works to ensure the safety of all stakeholders.
As Indooroopilly Station remained operational for the duration of the project the works were programmed to ensure no disruption was caused to the public or railway.
Shamrock Civil completed the project on time and to the satisfaction of the S2K Alliance.
