Northbuild Constructions awarded Shamrock Civil the Earthworks, Stormwater and Pavements contracts for the West Pacific Pines State School in May 2007.
The stormwater involved the construction of stormwater lines ranging in size from 300 - 900 diameters, the associated manholes and access chambers, and the installation of 4no Gross Pollutant Traps.
Shamrock Civil also carried out the bulk excavation for retaining walls, 5,000m3 of cut and fill, the preparation and leveling of 3,300m2 of building pads and the back filling of the retaining walls.
The contract also involved the construction of link walls, filling on landscape batters, filling behind the link walls and the trimming of 29,000m2 of landscape areas. Shamrock utilised their extensive experience to ensure the filling behind the link walls and the filling on the landscape batters were carried out safely and without incident.
The contract also consisted of 6,500m2 of asphalt car park and the associated line marking and road signage.
Shamrock Civil liaised closely with Northbuild Constructions to ensure all portions of the project were completed and handed over on programme as required to allow for the opening of the school for the 2008 school year.
